Updated 12/11/21: Very surprised by the negative reviews, must be because of user error. Of course, if you feed folded, crimped, damaged, taped or torn bills you will have problems – with any machine – not just the Ribao. I have yet to have a problem with a jam or miscount, but then I only feed clean, and flat bills into the machine. Easy to give 5 stars with the utmost confidence.Over the last 4 years I’ve purchased many currency counters (so many that I’ve lost count – at least 6 but perhaps as many as 8) and this is the first one that I can say is an ideal fit for my business and personal use. The Ribao is nicely intuitive to use, no steep learning curve here, truly as “Plug & Play” as you can get in this type of equipment.I am glad that I was not dissuaded by reading the negative reviews from purchasing this one! I don’t know what planet these folks are from but their difficulties had to be one of a few different possibilities: 1) User error – putting torn, folded , wrinkly, or otherwise defective currency into the hopper. 2) Having the settings out of whack – there are adjustments that can make or break your experience. If you don’t try some troubleshooting you can have problems with any machine. 3) Fraudulent and misleading postings – this one speaks for itself.I started off with a far from perfect stack of 40 or 50 bills and fed it into the Ribao’s nicely adjustable hopper. The machine ran quickly through the stack and neatly delivered the bills into the output hopper. I inverted the stack and tried again and this time the machine stopped halfway through with a beep and it turned out that there was a folded, dog-eared corner. The machine will do this anytime it encounters a defective banknote, a counterfeit note, etc. Upon lifting the bills that made it into the output hopper the machine automatically runs through the remaining bills in the input hopper and in this case there were no more issues.I have yet to encounter any problem with the count (either the total or the line total for any of the denominations) or mis-identifying the denomination of a note. So again, I would say the machine is 5 out of 5 in accuracy, and its ability to handle less than perfect legal tender.Given the full retail price point that this machine is selling at ($899 to $999) it is a bargain in my opinion given it’s nearly flawless performance and its long list of features. I happen to have been blessed with a deep discount on Amazon, when I logged on one day the price was showing at $699 and there was a coupon available for an additional $35 off bringing the pre-tax price down to $664. At this price it is a slam dunk, no brainer, super deal. But even at full price I would recommend this machine counter without any hesitation. For just a few hundred dollars more than machines that lack the multi-denomination capability you get bank-machine-like performance for a fraction of the price of the machines the bank use.Granted, it has just the one display (a nice one at that) on the front panel and I haven’t years to test its durability yet, I have a gut-feeling this machine will stand up over time and it does come with a nice 2 year warranty which is doubled with my credit card to 4 years so I am confident I will get my money’s worth out of this nice counter – and then some. If you need a counter then I say “Buy it now!”11/23/22 – Update: Over 2 years of daily usage and this unit is working flawlessly. No problems.
